The most terrifying emotion? Joy.

Why is it when things are going well * happy relationship, healthy kids, fulfilling job, amazing hobbies* that we instinctually feel fear? Why can't we just allow joy to fill us since happiness is what everyones working towards? Because joy is the most terrifying emotion. Learn why with Dr. Brene Brown on Oprah's Super Soul Sunday. PS...if you want to learn incredible things from some fabulously inspiring people I suggest you tune into Super Soul Sunday on a regular basis or at least check out the website. Holy. Cow. Batman.

Another PS - write down three things you're grateful for right now, this second, on that napkin or paper in front of you.

Fear of Joy. <--- click.

After you've watched that nugget o' goodness, check this quick video out, too. It'll make you smile.

trapped in a cycle.

'As Proust wrote, “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” Stop now, right now, and look around you. This is your place in the labyrinth. There is no place else you need to be. See with eyes that aren’t fixed on goals, or focused on flaws. You are part of the endless, winding beauty. And as you learn to see the dappled loveliness of your life, as your new eyes help you begin loving the labyrinth, you’ll slowly come to realize that the labyrinth was made solely for the purpose of loving you.' - Martha Beck

We've all been in recurring patterns in life whether it's a relationship we know won't work yet we keep going back, poor eating habits, drugs or other addictions, or psychological mind games we play on ourselves. If you take a step back and notice the pattern, you're already beginning to fix it. How to realize your labryinth is a gift.

A short little snippet from another fave. You're told so many things you do as a kid are wrong and yet those exact traits probably encouraged who you are as a person today. Maybe you shouldn't stop talking during class.

Stressin' out? My favorite doTERRA blend to ground and relax is our Balance blend. Want to learn more? Check out the blends, singles, and all kinds of other goodies here.

Want to know the #1 way and first step to finding happiness? Gratitude. Here is a video from Marie Forleo and a post from Danielle LaPorte explaining how this beautiful word can change your life quickly. I dare you, once you've watched and read to start your own small gratitude journal. 3 items a day to start and it can be as small as the perfect coffee Dunkin Donuts made you, or, as big as your mom getting cleared of cancer.

In fact, why not start right now and add 3 things you're grateful for in the comments? :)

Who/What/Why?

What is The Wellness Glow, who am I, and why the heck did I start this?

The Wellness Glow is a small place to find information and ways to lead a more holistic and happy life. Small steps, journeys, ideas, and inspirations to help you lead a well-rounded and joyful existence. As much as I'd like to take credit for a lot of the inspirational sayings I'll include, 99.999% of them will come from others who have a much more beautiful way of wording things than me. I'll compile my favorite videos, blog posts, quotes, anything I find that inspires. Here you will feel like an actual human being; one who will NOT feel guilty about eating an occasional massive plate of pasta with 10 pounds of non-organic parmesan cheese. One who skips a day, or two, of working out. Someone who has bad days where all you want to do is sulk, cry, be cranky and angry at the world and yet be OK with it because you know you'll survive and conquer.

Who am I? Here's a list of things about me, Steph.

*I love Oreos, and there is not one natural or healthy ingredient in them.
*Yoga is the best thing, physically and mentally, that has ever happened to me.
*I hate spiders and I'll stomp them until there's nothing left.
*I have a beautiful little baby girl that I never knew I could love as much as I do.
*I had a dapple-colored dashund who was crazy and one of the absolute loves of my life.
*I'm not a great writer.
*I've wanted to be an entrepreneur since the day I knew what it meant.
*I love my husband, life, home, friends, and family.
*Tangled is my favorite Disney movie.
*I've been a nanny for over 10 years to amazing children of all ages.
*I am happy. 98% of the time.
*Danielle LaPorte, Kris Carr, Marie Forleo, and Martha Beck are my idols.
*I swear...a lot.

Now that you have a general idea of who I am you're probably wondering why I started this...

2005-2008 was one of the most bittersweet and turmoil-filled span of years in my entire life.  I was depressed. Sad. Dis-hearted. Scared. Lost. I had no clue where to turn and felt as though I'd never find my way out of this dark hole I had fallen into. My high school had a program running with various relaxation and stress relieving techniques, yoga being one of them.  I was hooked. From then on I took class after class, eventually became a yoga teacher, and read every single book I could get my hands on about yoga, spirituality, stress, happiness, and life coaching. I knew if I could find my way out of the abyss and truly see how blessed I am that others could too and I would find a way to show them how. So, here I am. Years later and trying my best to help those who need it find a healthier and more observant life.

Join me and see how beautiful your life is. I will do my absolute best to write every week, and if I miss a one please don't be mad at me. I'm a mom, wife, nanny, housekeeper, bill payer, friend, daughter, sister, and gazillion other things too so it gets a little crazy in my world.

'Each day is a gift, untie the ribbons.'
